Urges the Commission to take additional measures to improve access to finance for SMEs, and to ensure an improved business environment, simplify procedures and reduce administrative burdens in the single market; stresses the importance of sound business regulation for the success of the European Fund for Strategic Investments; recalls the need to focus investments on the priorities set out in the Europe 2020 strategy, i.e. developing an economy based on knowledge and innovation, promoting a more resource-efficient, greener and more competitive economy and fostering a high-employment economy delivering a high level of social and territorial cohesion;
