Stresses the need to ensure that audiovisual media content is able to be transmitted at the speed and quality foreseen by its creators and distributers; opposes any attempts to limit the principle of net neutrality in this regard, by which audiovisual media content would be treated differently than other data transfers; asks for this to be reflected in any revision of the AVMSD;

Recalls that cross-border access to goods and services online should be without any barriers or discrimination for European consumers, regardless of their location, residence or nationality; notes the importance to ensure consistency between the AVMSD and the Geo- blocking Regulation; points out that the Commission Report on the first short-term review of the Geo-blocking Regulation1a states that on audiovisual content, in particular, the Commission would engage in a dialogue with stakeholders with a view to fostering circulation of quality content across the EU; notes the inclusion of this dialogue as Action 7 within the Media and Audiovisual Action Plan1b; reminds the Commission of its commitment to complete this stock-taking exercise by the end of 2022 and for the Commission to consider proposing amendments to extend the scope of the Geo-blocking Regulation and potential other follow-up measures; ask the Commission to present the outcome of this stakeholder dialogue to the Parliament and to propose amendments to the Geo-blocking Regulation; _________________ 1a https://ec.europa.eu/digital-single- market/en/news/commission-publishes- its-short-term-review-geo-blocking- regulation 1b https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal- content/EN/TXT/HTML/?uri=CELEX:52 020DC0784&from=EN
