Notes the Commission objective ‘to make EU law lighter, simpler and less costly for the benefit of citizens and enterprises’; stresses that this removal of regulatory barriers should undermine neither the European social acquis, the ILO core conventions nor the European Social Charter in fields such as occupational health and safety or information and consultation of workers, nor the ILO core conventions nor the European Social Charter, and should respect the autonomy of social partners as foreseen in the Treaty;
