Notes that, in some Member States, there is a need for increased transparency and disclosure of fees levied on asset management and especially on all layers of investments by private pension providers; further notes the intergenerational effects such fees may have, through the increased financial burden that may be placed on younger generations;

Realises that pension knowledge of employees is very limited; is of the opinion that employees need to be better informed of any pension right they build up, the conditions to which it is subject, the security and, portability of this right and, the possible need for further savings to reach a target level and the disclosure of fees associated with asset management of any layer of pension funds;
