Warmly welcomes the Commission's intention to insert measures in the Stockholm Programme aimed at addressing the problems faced by EU citizens during their life circle in the EU; asks the Commission to propose, within this framework, appropriate measures, including in the field of civil law, to finally implement the principle of equal treatment not only in relation to goods, capitals and services, but also in relation to persons, including same-sex partners, as the current situation is discriminatory, constitutes a barrier to free movement and is contrary to the common European values of equality and non- discrimination;
