Highlights the call from stakeholders to place greater emphasis on continuous professional development (CPD); points out that global competition and the orientation towards knowledge-based economies creates new challenges for skills development and education; calls for the Commission, therefore, to clarify the definition of CPD; encourages competent authorities to provide information on CPD during the recognition process and to exchange best practices in this area;
