Underlines that overconcentration of the population in certain urban areas has already led to repercussions such as congestion, the growing challenge of affordable housing, pollution, a deterioration in quality of life, urban sprawl, and a significant risk of poverty and social exclusion for certain segments of the population; Calls therefore for the acceleration in investments for sustainable public transport, for walking and cycling infrastructure and for the safety of road users and especially users with reduced mobility and other disabilities;
