Notes that the split between the various cohesion policy funds is the result of the allocation method defined in the draft Common Provisions Regulation, which provides for a balanced distribution with 61.6 % of the funds for the least developed regions, 14.3% for regions in transition, 10.8% for the most developed regions, 12.8% for the Member States benefiting from the Cohesion Fund, and 0.4% as additional funding for the outermost regions;

Considers that, following the Paris Agreement, climate-related spending should be significantly increased compared to the current MFF and should reach 30 % as soon as possible and, at the latest, by 2027. ; welcomes the Commission’s proposal to increase the share of EU spending contributing to climate objectives to 25 % and calls for further efforts to increase it to 30 % as soon as possible.
