Points out that the EU farm rabbit production is different amongst Member States; stresses that some Member States have already implemented national guidelines setting up minimum standards for farm rabbits (such as Germany); considers it important to ensure a level playing field for producers in the EU and towards third countries; calls on individual Member States to develop guidelines in order to both ensure animal welfare and to consider economic and social aspects of the sector;
