Believes that in the next few years climate change will create more environmental migrants from developing countries, and that in order to better protect their human rights, environmental refugee status needs international recognitionaggravate existing vulnerabilities and will increase the displacement of people, and that in order to better protect their human rights, more targeted and more effective implementation of the relevant EU instruments is crucial; as well as the increase of the actions under the NDICI which contribute to climate change and mitigation as stressed in the European Parliament first reading position on the NDICI, adopted in its legislative resolution of 27 March 2019 on the proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and the Council establishing the NDICI (P8_TA(2019)0298);
