Illegal catch, were estimated in the early 2000s, to be between 10 and 26 million tonnes of fish, with an estimated value of US$10-23 billion. In the EU, IUU-caught products imported annually are estimated to reach around 500 000 tonnes, at a value of €1.1 billion;
