Recalls that the processing of personal data, including its transfer, must always comply with Union data protection acquis; emphasises, in this respect, the need to draw clear boundaries between the treatment of personal and of non-personal data in the data spaces outlined by the Commission, especially in the case of smart connected products; recalls, in this context, that data sets in which different types of data are inextricably linked, are always treated as personal data; stresses that, in such instances, citizens should be systemically enabled to benefit from their co-generation of personal data and their ownership of such data should be automatically protected;
