Warns that the dumping of waste at sea and especially from the microplastics and nanoplastics is harmful to the environment, results in heavy economic losses to the fisheries sector and other activities, and affects human health through the entire food chain; welcomes EMFAF decision to provide funding for fishermen to recover and collect, collect, reuse and recycle refuse and lost fishing gear; as well as other marine litter; notes that this is in line with the circular economy and zero pollution action plans, and will contribute to the objective of reducing plastic litter at sea by 50%, by 2030; stresses in this regard that further awareness campaigns and training for fishermen should be promoted.
