Recalls the EU’s commitment to achieving net zero greenhouse gases emissions target by 2050 at the latest; stresses that these emissions must be reduced by at least 65% by 2030 compared to 1990 emissions in order for the Union to contribute to limiting global warming to less than 1.5° C by the end of the century, in line with the latest scientific evidence;
