Takes the view that while cooperating on exploitation, trade and transit of energy products to the EU, there is also a need to intensify cooperation and develop specific instruments concerning safety and security of energy technologies (such as in case of the Instrument for Nuclear Safety Cooperation), data sharing on know-how transfer, promotion of energy efficiency and energy savings as well as clean and renewable energy sources, particularly in relations with countries whose energy consumption is growing rapidly;

Asks the Commission to elaborate joint energy roadmaps, not only with all key energy suppliers such as Russia, but also with key partner, with strategically important transit countries, and partnerships with countries, who face similar energy challenges and share similar values such as the US, Canada, Australia and Japan, notably with the aim of promoting technological, research and industrial cooperation and to set common standards for renewable energy technologies, energy efficiency, electric vehicles, new and unconventional energy technologies, safety of offshore drilling as well as nuclear safety and non-proliferation;
