Highlights the role of ICTs in reducing the need to travel, for example through teleconferencing, as well as delivering intelligent, environmentally friendly transport solutions which can result in reduced carbon emissions, less pollution and noise, and improved journey times; stresses however that ICT alone will not be sufficient to achieve the necessary reductions in transport related emissions;
