    The European Parliament approved this proposal for a regulation subject to the following amendments: - it called for aid granted for dry fodder to take proper account of the cost of energy used to dehydrate the fresh fodder, up to a guaranteed total quantity determined each year by the Council and divided between the Member States. It set these maximum quantities for the 1994/95 marketing year (4,200,000 and 4,300,000 tonnes respectively for the products covered by this regulation); - it amended the aid in ECUS/tonnes for the products in question, depending on their protein content; - it deleted the cases in which aid could not be granted.�

    1994/95 AGRICULTURAL PRICES: The purpose of this proposal was to revise the common organisation of the market in milk and milk products on two points: - to establish a single definition of butter for intervention in order to simplify the rules on this subject and to rationalise intervention on butter, which was a particularly appropriate solution given that there were now methods recognised at Community and international levels for establishing butter quality; - to abolish the intervention buying scheme for cheese: experience had shown that this was not a suitable measure for improving market conditions, and that the aim of stabilising the market could be achieved by granting private storage aid.�
