The Committee on Culture and Education adopted an\nown-initiative report by Krystyna ŁYBACKA (S&D, PL) on\nfollow-up on the implementation of the Bologna\nProcess.
\nMembers consider that the Bologna reforms resulted in\nthe launching of a European Higher Education Area (EHEA), and\nhave allowed achievements in the past 15 years in making\nhigher education structures more comparable, increasing mobility,\nproviding quality assurance systems and in the recognition of\ndiplomas, improving the quality of educational systems as well as\nthe attractiveness of higher education in Europe.
\nHowever, there is still much work to be done in the\nBologna Process in the area of adjusting educational systems to\nlabour market needs and improving overall employability and\ncompetitiveness, as well as the attractiveness of higher\neducation in Europe.
\nMembers call on higher education institutions (HEIs),\npublic administrations, social partners and enterprises to lead an\nongoing dialogue facilitating and enhancing employability of\nstudents.
\nAccording to the Members, the main issues and\npriorities are the following:
\n\n· \nto further improve and update the assessment of\nhigher educational establishments, against the standards previously\nset by education systems at international level and rewarding\nexcellence with a view to the advancement of knowledge, research\nand science;
