  • 'After being awarded a BA in Theology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, he completed a postgraduate course at Trinity College, Cambridge. Immediately afterwards, he completed a second postgraduate degree in the Sociology of the New Testament at Aristotle University, Thessaloniki, where he was a Research Fellow and PhD candidate.
  • He has worked in secondary education at the Philips European Hellenic School and as a researcher at the Holy Monastery of Kykkos Study Centre. He has participated in dozens of international conferences, representing the Church of Cyprus. He was a member of the Executive Secretariat of the International Forum for Encounters between Religions and Cultures. He is very engaged in public life and lectures at universities and social organisations, and has written many articles and scholarly papers on a wide range of issues.
  • In 2007 he was appointed Director of the Ecclesiastical Diaconate of the Bishopric of Kykkos and Tylliria. In 2009 he was selected by the then leader of the Democratic Rally and current President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiadis, as a candidate on the Democratic Rally's list for the European elections. In 2011 he was elected MP for Nicosia. In 2013 he succeeded the current Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulidis as MEP.'
