Stresses that consumers have a right to effective and equal protection regardless of their mode of transport; calls for one single regulation comprising all provisions and principles of passenger rights, particularly for passengers in vulnerable situations, in order to reduce fragmentation and reconcile inconsistencies across the different areas of passengers’ rights;

Stresses the need to ensure that passengers are informed of these rights before purchasing travel services, and that such information is made available in an accessible and comprehensible manner throughout all the various stages of travel; calls for action to strengthen the role of consumer centres in resolving consumer problems and disputes, and to ensure that effective and accessible mechanisms for alternative dispute resolution and collective redress are available; calls, in this context, for the establishment of a single helpline website for information on passengers’ rights (www.travel.eu);
