1a. Takes the view that the European Semester is simply a piece in the EU’s institutional architecture that is attacking countries’ political and economic sovereignty, imposing budget restrictions on the organs of national sovereignty;

Reiterates that it is not possible, in the framework of the European Semester and the Europe 2020 Strategy, to achieve goals such as cutting unemployment, reducing poverty and reducing the inequalities between men and women along with investment in public services, in particular the public network of day care centres, nurseries and public services which offer extracurricular activities for children, the development of the public support network for the elderly and a public network of community hospitals;
