Is concerned that the benefits of oil and gas exploitation and transportation in the Black Sea are increasingly dependent on the level of militarisation triggered by the illegal annexation of Crimea by Russia and the subsequent build-up of its capabilities in the area; appeals to Member States to take the steps needed to guarantee the security of exploitation of oil and gas and transportation in the Black Sea region;

Underlines that the Black Sea region should have real priority forin the foreign policy activity of the EU; considers that the current Black Sea Synergy (BSS) format is outdated; calls again on the Commission and the EEAS to draw up as soon as possible a new comprehensive EU Strategy for the Black Sea region;
