The spreading of fake news and half-truths by actors from third countries, in particular the Russian Federation, is an ever growing threat in the Member States, for example in the form of interference in the conduct of democratic elections; in this context, calls on the European Commission and the EEAS to enhance its strategic communication and, inter alia, to significantly strengthen the East StratCom Task Force, both financially and in terms of staff;
