Reiterates that pilot projects (PPs) and preparatory actions (PAs), if carefully prepared, are very valuable tools to test new activities and innovative solutions in the fields of employment and social inclusion; recalls that it is paramount for PPs/PAs to be assessed solely on the basis of their merit and EU added value.

Notes that it is crucial for Parliament to be given regular updates on evaluation of the results and to be involved in the various stages of the implementation of PPs/PAs by the Commission; emphasises the importance of a transparent approach by the Commission when assessing and implementing PPs/PAs.
