Calls for the immediate elimination of harmful practices such as female genital mutilation (FGM) and early and forced child marriage; is extremely concerned that more than 200 million girls and women worldwide have been forced to undergo FGM; and that due to the COVID-19 pandemic the delay or interruption of community outreach programmes and education on harmful practices globally is estimated to lead 2 million more cases of FGM and 13 million more child marriages over the next decade compared to pre-pandemic estimates; calls for full access to physical and psychological care by interculturally sensitive and trained personnel;
