9a. Observes that environmentally friendly practices must be continuously and rigorously pursued. Continuing to fund such practices from one operational programme to another must therefore be encouraged, and the scope of intervention expanded to include producers whose plots of land adjoin those farmed by members of a producer organisation.

Considers that associations of producer organisations (AOPs) could play an important role in increasing the bargaining power of farmers and urges the Commission to reinforce incentives for setting up APOs and, reinforce their capacity to act from a legal perspective, and provide for the possibility of bringing producers who are not members of POs under their umbrella, in order to envisage a greater role for them in the future;
