Insists that the EU and the US should continue playing key constructive roles by jointly addressing regional conflicts and global challenges; recalls the importance of multilateralism in tackling global issues and insists that these should be addressed in the relevant international forums; is therefore concerned that recent decisions of the US – disengagement from key international agreements, disenrollment from international forums and the fomenting of trade tensions – may diverge from these common values and put strain on the relationship;
