Recognises the value of wood for energy purposes in contributing to the renewable energy targets of the 2030 climate and energy framework and in opening up new business opportunities; calls on the Commission to establish a system to evaluate the contribution that forests make as carbon sinks, and thus to contribute to the development of the renewable energy sector;
