Recalls the importance of theat mobility of workers for a competitive labour market, and stresses the need to reduce the administrative and linguistic barriers that are liable to restrain it; encourages raising of awareness of and further improvement of the EU-wide EURES job portalshould be ensured as an opportunity for those wishing to seek employment in other Member States, not as an obligation caused by a lack of job opportunities in their home country, with an aim of exploiting the full potential of the European labour market;

Recalls that there are currently 2 million unfilled vacancies in the EU and that there should be systems to match demand and offer in the labour market at the European level, such as a European vacancy database; emphasises the need for labour mobility in the Union in order to fill this gap, and reiterates the importance of ERASMUS+ and EURES in this respectat mobility must remain voluntary and not a necessity in order to find a job;

26. Underlines the importance of support measures for SMEs and micro-enterprises, in order to reduce the administrative and financial barriers to their establishment and operation as well as facilitating the hiring of qualified labour and training of employees; in that respect, stresses that the tax burden should be shifted away from labour to other sources of taxation that are less detrimental to employment and growth, while protecting adequate social protection.
