Acknowledges the importance of tourism in reaching the objectives of the Europe 2020 strategy, in particular with regard to the eradication of poverty and job creation; recalls that the tourism industry creates more jobs than other sectors; reminds that the trade volume of the tourism industry is equal to, or even exceeds that of the automobile industry;

Recalls the importance of the sharing economy as a promoter of tourism, as well as the importance of its contribution to the increase of the number of tourists in several tourist destinations; stresses that this should not be treated as unfair competition, and that the regulation of this sector could lead to a decrease in the inflow of tourists; stresses that user safety and security, as well as the quality of the services provided must be ensured;
