Notes with concern that adoption of recent anti-terrorism laws, including a bill proposing withdrawal of citizenship for terrorist suspects could lead to the suppression of peaceful and legitimate political opposition; urges the Kazakh authorities to avoid abusing this legislation with the aim of restricting freedom of speech, the independence of the judiciary or banning opposition activity and the activity of independent candidates; also urges that citizens’ electoral rights to be respected;
