Strongly welcomes the commitment and efforts of many industrial players in Europe to become carbon neutral and encourages those sectors or companies that are still hesitant to follow the many good examples;

Asks the Commission to establish a specific Directorate for climate neutrality in industry and publish, as soon as possible, a strategy on the topic; considers that the strategy should include financial support from the European Union for example from the Innovation Fund and Horizon Europe, flexible application of state aid rules to enable the necessary innovations and reduce red tape that hinders innovation in the area, which means that the “one in, one out” strategy should focus on these kind of regulatory obstacles for the necessary innovation and investment;
