Stresses that the normalisation of relations between Serbia and Kosovo is a priority and a precondition for EU accession; calls for active and constructive engagement in the EU-facilitated dialogue led by the EU Special Representative seeking a comprehensive and legally binding agreement, in accordance with international law; reiterates its call to move forward with the full implementation, in good faith and in a timely manner, of all the agreements already reached; calls on the EEAS to set up a mechanism to monitor and verify the implementation of all the agreements reached so far and to report periodically to the European Parliament about the state of play;

Regrets that the findings of EPRS study “Mapping Fake News and Disinformation in the Western Balkans and Identifying Ways to Effectively Counter Them” of November 2020 suggest that the Serbian media landscape is still filled with anti-EU rhetoric; Deplores the role played by Serbia-based news agency Sputnik Serbia in the media landscape in neighbouring countries, most notably Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro; calls on Serbian authorities to enforce a better oversight of the activities of Sputnik Serbia and similar agencies and transmitters in order to reduce disinformation both inside and outside the country;
