Highlights the need to accelerate an effective plan fEncourages the private sector standardisation and to ensure full interoperability in the digital domain; calls on the Commission to promote the development of open standards in all key domains, and welcomes its intention to guarantee access to standard essential patents under FRAND (fair, reasonable and non- discriminatory) conditions; reminds the Commission of the need to consider social and environmental aspects in the development of standards, and to ensure adequate participation of social partners a all stakeholders to rely on market competition as a basis to develop international standards in order to avoid purely European solutions and foster integration of European ind ustakeholderry in worldwide supply chains;
