1.3. Member States shall monitor and assess, by means of scientific studies or pilot projects, the effectiveness of the mitigation devices as described in point 1.1 in the fisheries and areas concerned. Research projects aiming at identifying innovative solutions are needed and the allocation of dedicated EMFF to support the sector’s adaption to these new provisions should be considered a top priority by the Member States affected.
