Stresses that digital divide remains an important issue, provided that about 58 millions of EU citizens have never used internet at all and calls therefore on the EU and Member States to effectively tackle and eradicate it in order to ensure the social and democratic inclusion of all citizens in the digital era, regardless of their income, social and personal condition, geographical location and avoiding any kind of discrimination as provided for in Article 21 of the Charter of Fundamental rights;
