Urges the Commission to propose the necessary measures in order to expand data collection for recreational fisheries to encompass more fish stocks and to make the collection of data on its socio-economic impact mandatory; urges the Commission, in addition, to establish a data register that is available to researchers to enable them constantly to monitor and assess the state of fishery resources; suggests that such measures could include the use of EMFF funding;
