Calls on the Commission to produce a report on the flagship EU carbon reduction scheme (the EU Emissions Trading Scheme - EU ETS) in order to ascertain whether the current trajectory for reductions will be enough to help the EU meet the SDGs and its commitments under the Paris Agreement; invites the Commission to provide adequate funding for the development of CO2 capture and storage technologies, which will play a fundamental role in the long-term strategy against global warming;
