4a. Is deeply concerned regarding the continuing huge differences between the amounts of direct payments in favour of individual Member States, which are drastically impairing the competitiveness of agricultural producers from the newer Member States, thus causing severe reductions in production in traditional agricultural sectors, major loss of jobs and sharply increasing inequalities. Is concerned as well that at present the CAP first pillar favours large agricultural producers, leading to extreme market concentration and lack of incentives for employment in the respective sectors. Calls therefore for urgent reforms in this regard;
