WarnNotes that legislation which increases administrative burdens greatly affects SMEs andmicro and SMEs should face proportionate obligations taking into account their specificities and sectorial characteristics and encourages the Commission to use strong enforcement action to limit market fragmentation, remove unjustified market barriers and ensure a level playing field by making use of all available tools, in order to avoid limiting consumers by choice, hindering competitiveness and preventing the single market from unlocking its full potential; calls on the Commission, with a view to providing evidence on the added value of EU action, and its costs and benefits, to strengthen the SME fitness check.
