Stresses the importance of respecting and protecting the rights of refugees and migrants, while special attention should be paid to women and children migrants; stresses the obligation to comply with international human rights conventions, particularly the Geneva Convention on the status of refugees and the principle of non-refoulement; Underlining the need for having External Relations, Development policy and Humanitarian aid interlinked and coordinated with Internal Policies for migration and internal security in order to be successful. This will require a more targeted approach including additional resources and efforts and better cooperation also amongst the competent EU institutions;
