Amendment 24 #
Proposal for a regulation
Recital 4 a (new)
(4 a) Given the importance of public information on urban public transport offers, and taking into account the language needs of tourists and the benefits of sustainable tourism policy, local authorities should offer free local wireless internet connectivity in order to provide real-time information, including on a sufficient number of displays in cities. In order to enable all passengers to use the new technologies, regardless of their socioeconomic background and their age, and in an effort to eliminate all existing digital divide between people and generations, the Wi-Fi connections should be user- friendly to all and be limited to the least possible complexity while connecting.
