Calls for legislative solutions that will assist farmers in reducing the use of antibiotics in livestock farming, with the aim of prudent and responsible use of antimicrobials; insists that such legislative solutions must address prophylactic and metaphylactic use; in this regard notes the progress that has already been made in this direction through negotiations for a Regulation on Veterinary Medicinal Products and the Regulation on Medicated Feed: manufacture, placing on the market and use;
