Recommends that in order to raise the profile of language technologies in Europe, the Commission should allocate the area of multilingualism to the portfolio of a Commissioner, given the importance of linguistic diversity for the future of Europe; calls for a Commissioner to be tasked with ensuring the delivery of linguistic diversity and equality throughout Europe;
