Emphasizes the importance of moving away from a traditional donor- recipient relationship and the need for a stronger and more political partnership between the EU and Africa, including the Northern African members of the African Union in the spirit of “Africa as one”, human rights-centred and based on shared values and interests, and a specific financial framework in order to tackle global issues such as migration, climate change, persisting starvation, poverty and inequality, unsustainable exploitation of natural resources, environmental degradation, unemployment, terrorism and organised crime.
