Underlines that the judicial and practical flaws in the implementation of this directive can be counteracted by the proper interplay of the various EU victim- protection instruments, such as Directive 2012/29/EU of 25 October 2012 establishing minimum standards on the rights, support and protection of victims of crime; , which has established the right to receive information, to receive free of charge interpretation services and translation of information, and which adopts an all-encompassing approach to victims with special needs, including victims of gender-based violence.
