Considers that family workers still represent the vast majority of agricultural labour in Europe, and that insufficient generational renewal is one of the major challenges faced by the farming sector across the EU, resulting in fewer farmers in the sector year after year; it is therefore necessary to support the next generation of family farmers as well as new young farmers, as this support is integrated in the CAP;

Regrets that COVID-19 exacerbated the occupational risks to the safety and health of seasonal workers, leading to further spread of infection and disease clusters; encourages in this regard the Member States to make full use of the recently adopted Guidelines on seasonal workers in the EU in the context of the COVID-19 outbreak to better guarantee their rights, health and safety;
