A. whereas Regulation (EU) 2018/302 on addressing unjustified geo-blocking and other forms of discrimination based on customers’ nationality, place of residence or place of establishment within the internal market and amending Regulations (EC) No 2006/2004 and (EU) 2017/2394 and Directive 2009/22/EC of 28 February 2018 does not address unjustified geo- blocking of digital media content; whereas the Regulation mandates a review to assess if its scope should be extended to these sectorelectronic services whose main feature is the provision of access to, and use of, works or other subject matter protected by copyright, including the selling of copyright-protected works or protected subject matter in an intangible form, provided that the trader has the requisite rights for the relevant territories;

Stresses the importance of digital democracy and the right of every citizen to information, and calls on the Commission to ensure that those values are respected; Calls on the Commission to rapidly create the legal anan appropriate, efficient and harmonised rlegulatory conditionsal framework to guarantee the freedom to provide digital media content services and to ensure the dissemination and reception of digital media content from regions where minorities live, so that they can watch and listen to content in their mother tongue without geo-blocking of this content if it is broadcast or provided from another country; in this regard, the Commission should prioritise investment in the necessary infrastructure in order to ensure broad coverage of digital media content services;
