7a. Points out that Parliament has voted against EU subsidies for bullfighting and has specifically called for agricultural subsidies to be withheld from the breeding of fighting bulls; calls, therefore, on the Commission to prevent any funding for the breeding of fighting bulls in 2019;

Expresses its concern about the large-scale use of chemical pesticides in the agricultural sector and the harmful effects thereof on public health, animal health and welfare and the environment; calls on the Commission, therefore, to encourage the use of safe and environmentally-friendly alternatives and accordingly to step up support for such solutions in 2019.
