Supports resource efficiency and multiple timber use as measures which can enhance the potential of forests and minimise the impact of climate change; takes the view, in that connection, that the Commission should draw up best practice guidelines and make multiple timber use mandatory in law, with a view to regulating properly the use of timber as an energy source, in keeping with sustainability principles, and exploiting to the full the potential offered by the forestry sector;
